Start with your Usage screen.
Open the Usage or usage-and-billing screen available in your OpenAI account. Find the allowance that is limiting you and its next reset time. In an active Codex CLI session, /status can also show usage information. Which windows apply depends on your plan.
Copy the displayed date and time into the Codex clock. Add the percentage remaining, rather than the percentage already consumed. If your account has a separate session window, you can track it alongside the main allowance.
Your time zone matters. The form uses your device’s local time zone and saves an exact instant. Convert a provider time if it is shown in a different zone. A social post’s timestamp is not your personal reset time.
Understand the different reset types.
A normal allowance refresh follows the schedule shown for your account. OpenAI also distinguishes saved, automatic and purchased one-time resets. A saved or “banked” reset waits for you to use it, subject to eligibility and expiry. An automatic reset applies to the accounts and allowances covered by that particular offer. Check which accounts and allowances a specific offer names.
Purchased resets, where offered, are immediate account actions. This site cannot buy, redeem or trigger any reset for you. Always read the account offer before choosing one.
Why your weekly time can move.
For the first-request timing of a paid weekly reset, see the Codex weekly schedule guide. For an unused offer, see saved Codex resets.
A one-time reset can change the refresh date of the allowance it affects. That is why a countdown based on an older screenshot can become wrong. Check the updated Usage screen after redeeming a reset or receiving a relevant automatic reset.
Plan with the allowance you actually have.
Suppose you enter 40% remaining and a reset exactly four days away. The desk shows an even split of 10 percentage points per day. This is arithmetic from your inputs, not a measured token budget. Update your remaining percentage after a working session; the website cannot see what you have spent.
When the time is reached, the clock switches to a check-your-account message. It never invents a fresh 100% balance. If you exported a calendar reminder and your schedule changes, update or remove the old calendar event too.
Reset time passed but still blocked?
Refresh or reopen the Usage view and check that you are in the intended account and workspace. Identify the particular allowance that is still exhausted. If you just used a one-time reset, check the updated schedule before trusting an older timer. A local countdown cannot confirm that a reset was applied.
Check official service status separately from your allowance. An incident and an exhausted usage window are different explanations. The OpenAI reset guide below is the source for checking Usage after a reset.
What about the next public reset?
LimitSlate does not know when the next saved or automatic reset will be offered. Our public update log helps you find announcements and their sources. It does not promise when the next offer will arrive.
